Every day, I strive to improve the lives of my patients who are suffering from TMJ disorders, craniofacial pain, sleep apnea, and related disorders. I take my position as an Orofacial Pain Specialist seriously because I want to improve the lives of my patients. I have dedicated many years of my life to continuing education as well as research that will continue to improve the lives of my patients. I am fortunate enough to be a member of some prestigious organizations that are composed of like-minded medical professionals, and I was recently named president of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. Read on to learn about what this honor means and how it will translate to your care.

What is the American Academy of Orofacial Pain?
The AAOP is an organization of dentists and other health professionals that are dedicated to alleviating pain and suffering through the promotion of excellence in education, research, and patient care in the field of orofacial pain and associated disorders. It is a premier organization for orofacial pain and is responsible for it becoming a specialty.

Each year, the AAOP holds a meeting that members can attend. This year, the meeting was held in Orlando, FL, and I was inaugurated as President for 2023-2024. I have been involved with the AAOP for many years, and I am honored to be named President.

What Does This Mean for Care?
I am always striving to improve the lives of my patients. This opportunity gives me the ability to speak to my colleagues, who are the best in the country. The AAOP enjoys a reputation as the premier resource in my field for evidence-based, reliable information. I am going to assist the other members of the AAOP in promoting awareness of all aspects of orofacial pain.
