Dr. Rafael then stayed on to completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at the University, where he received advanced training in placement and restoration of dental implants, grafting and tissue conditioning, esthetic makeovers, root canals, Dental 3D Imaging and Printing, and an overall comprehensive approach to treating patients in helping them lead a healthier and better dental lifestyle. After Completing the AEGD Program, Dr. Khavis has been given the opportunity to join the Dental school faculty in the Restorative Department, where he currently is a Clinical Assistant Professor, working both in the preclinical simulation courses as well as in the clinic helping the students deliver compassionate and stellar dental care.
“I am constantly trying to learn and better myself to give my absolute best to all the patients I have the privilege of seeing. I believe that the most important aspect of dentistry is the relationship and communication that can and should develop between a doctor and patient. There should always be a dialogue and patients should feel like they are being heard and taken care of. I truly enjoy what I do everyday and feel truly humble that those with dental concerns or that are in need of a dental home entrust me to take care of them.”
When Dr. Khavis is not in the office or calling his patients to check up on them after a procedure, he loves spending time with all of his three girls, is constantly trying to learn new things, and is an avid DIY’er.
