Jeffrey I. Goldberg DDS MS MBA
Board Certified Orofacial Pain Specialist
Dr. Jeffrey Goldberg lives in Williamsville, NY, with his wife Melissa and their two daughters. Originally from Rochester, he graduated from Cornell University in 1999, and from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2003. Dr. Goldberg then completed a general practice residency at the Veterans’ Affairs Hospital in Baltimore, MD, where he received advanced training in dental implants, oral surgery, root canals, and treatment for medically complex individuals. After several years in practice, Dr. Goldberg returned to the dental school to complete a three-year residency and master’s degree in TMJ disorders and orofacial pain, and now serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in this program.
The TMJ / Orofacial Pain program at Buffalo is one of only about a dozen such programs in the nation to be accredited by the American Dental Association. For his thesis Dr. Goldberg investigated the association of chronic facial pain and sleep disorders. His teaching responsibilities now include supervising the TMJ clinic, teaching the dental sleep medicine course (which he originated at the school, and which is now considered one of the top dental sleep medicine programs in the country), and teaching practice management and pain management pharmacology. Dr. Goldberg has also earned a masters degree in business administration (MBA) from the University at Buffalo School of Management.
Dr. Goldberg is proud to introduce new concepts in the treatment of chronic facial pain, jaw dysfunction, and sleep apnea to Western New York. He is a board certified Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. As a leader both locally and internationally, Dr. Goldberg serves on the board of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain as president, and is serving as president of the Erie County Dental Society for 2020. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, painting and drawing, playing golf, and making artisanal hand crafted chocolate which he is happy to share with our patients.
